What is VDS?
Just like a dedicated server, each Virtual Dedicated Server has it's own independent operating system with isolated instance of Web Server, Mail Server and all installed software. A crashed application program in another customer's VDS has no effect on your VDS.
Shared Hosting
In an unsecure Shared Hosting Environment all of the accounts on a server are in the same directory & can be viewed by other account holders. Since all accounts share the same operating system & applications an error on one account will cause the entire server to be rebooted.
VDS Technology
VDS Technology divides up the disk space and network space creating a more secure, robust and reliable hosting environment. Each VDS has its own operating system. If a VDS on the same physical server crashes it will not affect any of the other accounts on the server.
